The China North Industries Corporation (NORINCO) launched two world-leading long-range strike platforms, i.e., the PLZ-52 self-propelled gun and the SR-5 self-propelled long-range rocket gun at the Abu Dhabi International Defense Exhibition while exhibiting such high quality and inexpensive weapon platforms as the VN-11 infantry fighting vehicle (IFV), the CS/SA-1 35mm self-propelled anti-aircraft gun, and the SH-3 and SH-5 wheel-type self-propelled guns.
The NORINCO also put on display an air-defense system at the exhibition. The exhibition board writes that the system can effectively turn an information-based air-defense platform into a multi-layer air-defense system featuring inter-connection, inter-communication and inter-operation which can not only strike low-altitude and slow-moving small targets, such as low-altitude penetration unmanned airplanes and cruise missiles, but also confront medium- and high-altitude enemy fighters and helicopters or strike weapons launched by them outside the theater.
Besides the ground system, the warships exhibited by the China State Shipbuilding Corporation (CSSC) also attracted the attention of Middle East countries. Upon being unveiled, several warship products of the CSSC including amphibious assault ship, high-speed frigate and S20 submarine drew the attention of Middle East, European and American countries quickly. In addition to the above-mentioned most advanced ships, supply ship, 618B patrol boat and 46M patrol boat developed by the CSSC with mature technology also meet the needs of Middle East countries.
