MND holds 2013 Spring Festival reception

The Ministry of National Defense (MND) of the People's Republic of China held the 2013 Spring Festival reception on the evening of January 25, 2013 in Beijing to observe the coming Chinese Spring Festival. More than 250 military attaches and their spouses from over 80 countries attended the reception at invitation.

Liang Guanglie, state councilor and minister of national defense, Chang Wanquan, Fang Fenghui, Zhang Yang, Zhao Keshi and Zhang Youxia, members of the Central Military Commission (CMC), and leaders from the four general headquarters/departments of the Chinese People's Liberation Army (PLA), PLA major organizations and the People's Armed Police Force stationed in Beijing as well as the General Office of the CMC were present at the reception.

Qian Lihua, director-general of the Foreign Affairs Office of the MND, delivered the opening speech on behalf of Liang Guanglie. He said that 2013 is the first year to comprehensively implement the essence of the 18th National Congress of the Communist Party of China. The Chinese military will continue to strengthen military cooperation and enhance mutual trust with other countries so as to make new contributions to safeguarding world peace and promoting common development.
