CPC department head calls for innovations in Party building

BEIJING, Dec. 5 (Xinhua) -- A senior Communist Party of China (CPC)official on Wednesday called for strengthening research on Party building and promoting innovations with valuable theoretical achievements.

Zhao Leji, head of the Organization Department of CPC Central Committee, made the comments at a forum held by the department on the study and promotion of the spirit of the 18th CPC National Congress, which convened last month.

The forum also marked the 25th anniversary of the founding of the department's research office for Party building.

He also urged researchers to strengthen research on major issues concerning the Party building with a persistent sense of responsibility.

He said research should focus on the most imperative issues in Party building and organization as well as those involving the public's greatest concerns.
