Jasaon Wu, iconic designer behind US First Lady

It's the moment in the limelight that every fashion designer hopes for. But the creator behind Michelle Obama's inaugural gown not just once but twice, Jason Wu proves that this wasn't just about luck.

We caught up with the 30-year-old New York-based fashion designer, euphoric over being picked AGAIN to dress the First Lady at the presidential inaugural ball.

That nail biting moment as the world watched and designers waited to see who dresses the first lady on this historic occasion.

And this was once again designer Jason Wu's moment, sharing Mrs Obama's limelight with this fiery red ensemble.

In an exclusive one-on-one interview at his design studio in the heart of New York's fashion district, Jason Wu recalls that defining moment.

Jason Wu: "My one thought was that wow she looks exactly like what I imagined she would look in that dress. That's the best feeling a designer could want, is not to only create beautiful clothes, but somebody who can wear it to the best of their ability and I think Mrs Obama did that. The other thought that came through my head is that I can't believe it happened again. It happened again."
