Dollar trades at mid-88 yen level in early Tokyo deals

TOKYO, Jan. 23 (Xinhua) -- The U.S. dollar traded at the mid-88 yen level early Wednesday in Tokyo.

At 9 a.m. local time, the dollar was quoted at 88.53-55 yen compared with 88.65-75 yen in New York and 89.09-10 yen in Tokyo at 5 p.m. Tuesday.

The euro fetched 1.3313-3314 dollars and 117.85-89 yen against 1.3317-3327 dollars and 118.14-24 yen in New York and 1.3360-3361 dollars and 119.03-07 yen in Tokyo late Tuesday afternoon.
