KINSHASA, Feb. 26 (Xinhua) -- The ambassadors of the members of the United Nations Security Council on Monday urged the signatories to the peace agreement of the Democratic Republic of Congo (DR Congo) to ensure implementation of the resolutions contained in the document.

The appeal was made in Kinshasa by the French ambassador Luc Hallade who is the spokesman for the ambassadors, after meeting with the Congolese Speaker Aubin Minaku.

The French diplomat welcomed the signing of the agreement since it will help DR Congo to regain peace and concentrate on tackling its development challenges.

He said that a report will be sent to the United Nations Security Council for the change of the mandate of the UN Mission for Stabilization of Congo (MONUSCO), so that an intervention brigade could be integrated.

The French ambassador further indicated that he had discussed with the Speaker on the willingness that had been expressed by President Joseph Kabila to hold talks with other stakeholders to cement national cohesion and unity.

Hallade said that the ambassadors of the Security Council member states consider the talks to be interesting and useful for DR Congo.
