ADVICES, WARNINGS

On the other hand, Tahtawi advised the interim president to change the methodology of management and to implement a "quick" plan to "cure" the disease that infected the state under Morsi in "internal affairs" as well as "foreign relations."

"In his one year tenure, he should maintain close ties with traditional allies of Egypt, such as Saudi Arabia and United Arab Emirates, both politically and economically... But more importantly, he should first 'dissolve' the splits that occurred during Morsi's rule with certain countries due to a rapprochement with Iran," he added.

The expert warned the interim president against repeating a mistake committed by predecessor, namely an "absence" of harmony among the presidential team members.

Tahtawi saw that the president can clear the way for and parliamentary elections processes "if he gains the 'trust' and ' support' of the Salafist Nour Party and other moderate Islamic parties.

On Friday, Mansour issued a constitutional declaration dismantling the Shura Council (upper house of the parliament) and issued presidential decrees appointing three advisors and a new intelligence chief.
