GUIYANG, July 5 (Xinhua) -- All four students who fell into a reservoir in southwest China's Guizhou Province on Thursday have died, local publicity authorities confirmed.

At about 11:40 a.m. Friday, rescuers retrieved the last of the four bodies of primary school students from the Dongfeng Reservoir in Panshui Township, Puan County, sources with the county's publicity department said.

The accident occurred around 4:45 p.m. Thursday, when four students at Panshui No. 1 Primary School fell into the reservoir.

Drowning cases are often reported at this time of the year, when Chinese students prepare for summer vacation.

In a separate incident, one child drowned in a pond on Thursday afternoon in Nanning, capital of south China's Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region.
