London Olympic 200m butterfly champion Jiao Liuyang and 100m fly runner-up Lu Ying also showed good level here as Jiao won the 200m fly while Lu topped the 50m and 100m fly.
As the National Championships also served as a trial event for the National Games in August, each team took it quite seriously and sent their top swimmers.
Some young swimmers showed their potential at Zhengzhou. The 14-year-old Liaoning girl Qiu Yuhan attracted limelight as she ranked third in the women's 200m free after leading the first 170m. Qiu also took a silver in the 100m free.
Qiu was the youngest Chinese swimmer to take part in the London Games and she finished fourth with her teammates in the 4X100m free relay at London.
