BOAO, Hainan, April 7 (Xinhua) -- President Xi Jinping said on Sunday that China's economic development is a good news to the world.
"The more China develops, the more it promotes the peace and development of Asia and the world," Xi said.
Xi made the remarks when meeting with members of the board of directors of the Boao Forum for Asia (BFA) in Boao, south China's Hainan Province.
Xi said China will focus on doing well in its domestic affairs while properly handling relations with foreign countries.
The world economy is still in a state of profound readjustment, while Asian countries see comparatively better economic performance, Xi said. However, it is difficult for Asian economies to break away from unfavorable impact from the outside.
With the theme of "Asia Seeking Development for All: Restructuring, Responsibility and Cooperation", the current BFA annual conference points out the direction for Asia's development, and is conducive to pooling wisdom and common consensus, Xi said.
He expressed the hope that participants to the BFA annual conference will actively put forward suggestions and the forum will continue to play its role in promoting the integration of Asian economy and serving the emerging economies, so as to push forward regional cooperation and common development.
China will continue to provide support for the forum's development, Xi added.
Xi also met with ministers and representatives of entrepreneurs from foreign countries; CY Leung, chief executive of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region, Chui Sai On, chief executive of the Macao Special Administrative Region, as well as entrepreneurs from Hong Kong and Macao; participants to a BFA youth leadership roundtable; Chinese businessmen; lecturers and Japanese entrepreneurs.
