'The most beautiful' people illuminate China (2)

(People's Daily Online)

Civilian heroes receive the most respect

Zhang Lili, a secondary school teacher, protected the students in a car accident and got herself grievously injured; Gao Tiecheng, an ordinary soldier, rushed into the flames to turn off the gas valve; Wu Bin, a bus driver, spent the last 76 seconds of his life to stop the bus, pull up the handbrake, and turn on the hazard warning signal lights to ensure the safety of the 24 passengers on board…

The above and other "most beautiful" figures in 2012 were all ordinary people and hardly known by anyone before becoming the "most beautiful".

As distinctively characterized by the "most beautiful figures" in 2012, the heroic models represent the moral strength demonstrated by the ordinary people.
