On economy, the party proposed economic growth strategy which is not reliant on construction of infrastructure. The party also advocates Japan joining negotiations of U.S.-led Trans-Pacific Partnership and to revise the Bank of Japan Law.

As to national system, the party wants a shrunk role of central government and pledged to dramatically cut members of Diet.

The party also promised to phase out nuclear energy gradually.

Japan Restoration Party was established by Hashimoto in September. Ishihara's Sunrise Party, a tiny group of conservative lawmakers, joined Hashimoto's party in November in an attempt to form a third political force in the country.

The House of Representatives was dissolved on Nov. 16 and the next election will be held on Dec. 16.
