Taro is rich in starch and nutrition. 100 grams of fresh taro comprise of 2.4 g protein, 0.2 g fat, 20.5 g carbohydrates, 14 mg calcium, 43 mg phosphorus, 0.5 mg iron, 10 mg vitamin C, 10.09 mg vitamin B, and 20.04 mg vitamin B.

Taro is creamy and easy to digest. It helps nourish stomach. The vegetable is especially beneficial for those who has weak stomach or suffers from intestinal diseases and tuberculosis. It is among the best foods for infants, children and the elderly.
