Over 18,000 runners take part in 2023 Liuzhou Marathon

Over 18,000 runners compete in the 2023 Liuzhou Marathon held in Liuzhou city, south China's Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region. (People's Daily Online/Fu Huazhou)

The 2023 Liuzhou Marathon and Liuzhou Police Marathon were held on April 9, 2023 in Liuzhou city, south China's Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region. A total of 18,288 runners competed in a circuit decorated with blooming redbuds, and enjoyed the run in Liuzhou's bracing spring.

The event consisted of a 42 kilometer full marathon, a 21 kilometer half marathon, and a 4 kilometer mini marathon. 70 percent of the runners were from outside the city, including 1,388 policemen.

In addition to the prize money, winners were also awarded with locally manufactured cars.
