Dayangshu lies in the southern part of Inner Mongolia's Greater Hinggan Mountains and is inhabited largely by people of the Oroqen, Daur and Ewenki ethnic groups. Before this year, the town was too small to have its own gaokao testing center, so the trains filled an important need.
