Long-awaited water diversion project quenches thirst of northwest China province (2)

Staff members work in a control center of a water diversion project designed to deliver water from the Taohe River, a major tributary of the Yellow River, to areas suffering severe water shortages in the central part of Gansu, in northwest China's Gansu Province, Sept. 6, 2021. A major water diversion project in Gansu has been completed as the second phase of the project began supplying water Tuesday. The project is expected to alleviate water shortages for more than six million people in the province, local authorities said Tuesday. (Xinhua/Fan Peishen)
