Compared to traditional messages that only allow users to send text, 5G messages will also enable users to send pictures, audio, videos, and emojis etc. With the ability to report the status of messages, users will have the option to manage messages in their history and pay for things online.

Through 5G messages, companies could also provide individualized services for customers with text, audio etc.

5G messages are expected to be charged based on the flow of traffic, believed to be cheaper than current messages and WeChat messages, with targeted traffic packages rolled out in the future, as insiders pointed out.

With 5G messages, consumers are able to complete daily tasks without having to download apps, according to technicians.

The operators need to cooperate so that all the users could get access to unified business and experience through the platform, said Zhang Yunyong, general manager of the product center at China Unicom.
