Hotan prefecture is one of the few remaining extremely impoverished regions in China. In recent years, the prefecture has advanced poverty eradication through developing labor-intensive industries.

Hotan has strengthened emergency guarantees and provided convenient financial services to help enterprises resume production smoothly.

At a poverty alleviation industrial park in Mugala township, Hotan prefecture, the production lines of several clothing workshops have been running at full capacity since they started doing work amid the epidemic.

“The government has sent coordinators to our factory to learn about and collect problems we’ve encountered in restarting production and work, such as insufficient supply of raw materials as well as vehicle permits, and they helped us solve all the problems,” said Shen Guangyin, head of a clothing factory.

A female employee of the factory who is responsible for taking temperatures of her workmates every day, said they must wear masks and have their temperatures checked before entering the factory. Besides, the factory publicizes epidemic prevention and control knowledge to them via a loudspeaker and sends relevant information to employee cellphones.

Zhu Haijun, director of the Commerce and Industrial Informatization Bureau of Yutian County, Hotan, said 41 companies in the county had resumed production and 8,600 employees are currently at their posts.
