After a long period of rapid development, the number of game users in China has exceeded 600 million, a figure that is already approaching saturation. Experts believe that innovation should become the driver behind the continuous development of the game industry.
The actual sales revenue of China's game market in 2019 was 233 billion yuan (about $33.4 billion), an increase of 8.7 percent year on year, according to the annual report on China's game industry in 2019 released by third-party platform CNG.
Experts believe that the development of science and technology will see the game industry continue to evolve. 5G empowerment and cloud games have become a new trend in game development, which is expected to promote a new round of growth.
"Innovation is the highlight of 2019," said Teng Hua, general manager of CNG, adding that the standardized management of industrial development has had a positive effect, making the pursuit of innovation more and more common in the industry.
Users are willing to pay for innovative products, Teng pointed out. One survey shows that more than 90 percent of users value product innovation, and most users' willingness to pay will be affected by the degree of product innovation.
