Globally renowned car brands showed their optimism in China's electric vehicle market at the Los Angeles Auto Show, which opened on Nov. 22, Economic Information Daily reported on Nov. 28.

As one of the world's largest auto shows, the Los Angeles Auto Show convened several new electric cars at the LA Convention Center, including the Mustang Mach-E, Ford's first electricity powered SUV, Tesla's Cybertruck, and Audi's new e-tron Sportback.

Pieter Nota, a member of BMW's Board of Management, said that the e-car industry is developing fast in China with policy support from the central government.

Nota said he believed in the bright future of the Chinese market.

He mentioned the business cooperation between BMW Group and its Chinese counterparts, such as the electric MINI in China with Great Wall Motors. On top of that, BMW also cooperates with Baidu, Alibaba and Tencent in automatic driving and car networking technology.

Ford conducted in-depth research in China before developing its prototype e-car, said Darren Palmer, Global Product Development Director of Ford & Lincoln Battery Electric Vehicles.

The Chinese market is prioritized in the company's new energy business, said Palmer. In the next phase, Ford's electric cars will be optimized with digital technologies and new means of payment before entering into the Chinese market.
