A tourism exhibition was jointly held by the Yunnan enterprise office in Laos and the Lao National Chamber of Commerce and Industry on Oct. 22 in Laos. The exhibition is one of the activities held to promote the Visit Laos-China Year 2019 and the Lao-Yunnan trade exhibition.
The event aims to promote China-Laos cooperation through jointly solving problems, eliminating differences in the process of trade and investment facilitation, and cementing Yunnan-Laos tourism cooperation.
China and Laos launched the Visit Laos-China Year in January 2019. During the year-long tourism promotion campaign, several activities will be held, including cultural performances and an exhibition of Lao and Chinese tourism products.
Currently, there are 50 Lao travel agencies and about 100 Chinese-speaking tour guides in Laos specializing in providing services to Chinese tourist groups.
The number of tourists visiting Laos last year increased to more than 4.1 million, of which 800,000 people came from China.
