Beijing (People's Daily Online) -- A photography exhibition titled "Poland through the lens of a female Chinese journalist" opened Monday at Peking University in Beijing to celebrate the 70th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between China and Poland.

The exhibition, jointly held by the Embassy of Poland in China and School of Foreign Language at Peking University, displays 70 out of tens of thousands of photos taken by Du Jing in the past decade. In her photos, Du captured Polish landscapes, nature, architecture, people, art and food.

Du Jing is a journalist, photographer, and writer. She has published three books about Poland since 2012 to express her deep affection for this country. “I've been to Poland eight times in different seasons since 2006, and I love the people, culture, as well as natural scenery in this beautiful country,” she said.

Piotr Gillert, Deputy Head of the Embassy of the Republic of Poland in Beijing, stressed the importance of individuals in contributing to the growth of bilateral relationships, “because their personal passion [and] personal interest in a foreign country provide extra energy, extra dimension--a people-to-people dimension to the relationship”.

Last year, Du was awarded the Bene Merito - a special decoration awarded by the Polish Foreign Minister to both Poles and foreign citizens “in recognition of their merits in promoting Poland abroad” because of her contribution towards further mutual understanding between the two countries.

The exhibition will last until November 10.
