Local newspapers of China’s Hong Kong Special Administrative Region (SAR) published the front-page headline “Hong Kong has had enough of it” under the signature of “A bunch of Hong Kong citizens who were born and raised in the city” on Aug. 15, Chinanews.com reported Thursday.

The statement, which was published on the front page of local newspapers in Hong Kong including Sing Tao Daily and Ming Pao, comprised the five appeals below:

We firmly support the Hong Kong SAR government and police in strictly enforcing the law to stop all acts of lawbreaking, bullying, vandalism, and violence.

We demand that the Hong Kong SAR government suspends permission to all public demonstrations and assembly activities for the restoration of social order in Hong Kong.

We urge parents as well as heads and teachers of universities, middle schools, and primary schools to try their best to dissuade their children and students from participating in illegal activities.

We demand that all law enforcement departments strictly punish all illegal acts concerning funding, instigating, and assisting violence and riots.

We demand that the Hong Kong SAR government severely punishes all media which, through the spread of false reports, confuse the public, glorify illegal acts and violence, and incite people to disturb the social order and obstruct law enforcement.
