Visitors will be wowed by the “umbrella-shaped” International Pavilion, one of the main pavilions at the upcoming 2019 Beijing International Horticultural Exhibition.
The Pavilion, which covers 22,000 square meters in total, looks like a white umbrella from a bird’s view. It’s comprised of 94 pillars, each equipped with a cable for melting snow.
In addition, each pillar can also work as a photovoltaic power plant to supply electricity.

The International Pavilion is like a white structure nestled in a green forest, said Hu Yue, chief designer of the pavilion. It serves as a sunshade for outdoor visitors, and at the same time is designed in a way which allows it to avoid stealing the thunder of exhibited plants inside.
The Beijing Expo 2019 will be opened on April 29 in Yanqing district on the northern outskirts of Beijing, and more than 110 countries and international organizations as well as over 120 non-official exhibitors have confirmed participation, according to Xinhua.
