Tanzania and China have strengthened their relationship in the recent years by exchanging culture and sharing both social and economic related matters.

The director for Chinese Cultural Centre in Tanzania, Mr. Gao Wei made the revelation during the Chinese 2019 New Year, adding that the two countries have been in good relationship decades back and they are continuing to share experiences in various areas.

“This helps to build good connection between us,” he pointed out, adding that through the Cultural Centre both Tanzanians and Chinese will be able to understand culture practices in both sides. He further said that: “We use this day to celebrate with our families, doing general cleanness, and eating together, among others.”

A student at the Chinese Cultural Centre, Mr. Abdul Seif commented that the event was likely to bring families and friends together, adding: “I love the things we do together during the Chinese New Year Festival.”

Last year over 2,100 cultural activities were hosted in over 400 cities across more than 140 countries and regions, where people had a chance to encounter traditional Chinese culture through the events.

China has been supporting various development projects and has continued to help Tanzania in various sectors, with the aim of developing and promoting political and economic development in the country.
