The China International Import Expo (CIIE), the world’s first-ever import-centered national expo, will open at the National Exhibition and Convention Center (NECC)in Shanghai on November 5.
The four-leaf clover shaped building has refreshed its appearance to welcome guests from all over the world and now it looks like a charming colorful butterfly in west Shanghai. Sight lamps along the 20-mile-long Huangpu River bank will deliver magnificent night scenery for the upcoming guests.
Li Qiang, the secretary of the Shanghai Municipal Committee of the Communist Party of China (CPC) and a member of the Political Bureau of the CPC Committee, said at Shanghai Tower on Oct. 29 when he met major participants of the World Laureates Forum that the Times Square of New York City is known as the “crossroads of the world," but that districts on both sides of the Shanghai’s Huangpu River will be known as the “world’s reception room.”
Shanghai has refined city management and improved the quality of its services in preparation for the event. The glorious oriental city is embracing global guests with a more open stance.
With the slogan of “New Era, Shared Future,” CIIE has attracted over 3,000 enterprises from 81 countries. More than 5,000 products will make their debuts at the expo and 12 countries, which have been granted the status of “Guest of Honor,” will showcase their unique products and technologies. Over 130 high-level political dignitaries and 1,500 delegates from related international organizations, global business sector, academic sector, domestic ministries and commissions, and Chinese regions will attend the CIIE opening ceremony.
As the countdown clock to the opening of CIIE ticks away, a batch of latest products from home and abroad are being carried to the coastal city of Shanghai on the East China Sea by freighters and flights from across the world. These products will soon unveil their mysterious masks.
