In addition to money and certificates, large pieces of raw pork are now a reward for high-achieving students at a Chongqing-based high school.

On April 21, Nanjing High School in southwest China’s Chongqing held an award ceremony to recognize excellence and motivate the high school juniors, People’s Daily Online reported.
A total of 20 pieces of raw pork, each weighing 2.5 kilograms, were granted to the top 20 students in a recent mock test ahead of the approaching college entrance exam. A red paper ribbon was attached to each piece, reading “share success.” Many net users have given a thumbs up to this unusual but practical prize.

Such a special reward is designed to allow the joys of top students to be shared with their families. Students can bring it back home and cook with their parents, according to The Paper.
