An array of ancient Afghan cultural relics looking much like the new release of a luxury brand will meet the public a week from now in Chengdu Museum, located in southwest China’s Sichuan province, Chinanews.com reported Wednesday.
The special exhibition with a collection of 231 sets of precious cultural relics from Afghanistan will start from February in Chengdu.
A gold and turquoise crown is the highlight among all the treasures on display. The crown was decorated with dozens of slim gold flakes as an extra layer, and glistens when moved.
In addition, other jewelries including heart-shaped decorations, gold animal bracelets, and rose-like pendants will also amaze the guests with their chic designs and exquisite craftsmanship.
The exhibited pieces were unearthed at four archeological sites, namely, Tepe Fullol, Ai-Khanum, Tilla Tepe, and Begram. It will be the first time that visitors from China can experience ancient Afghanistan between 300-100 BC without going abroad.
