Yang Yang, a 22-year-old man in Atuleer, the “village on a cliff” in Sichuan’s Liangshan Yi Autonomous Prefecture, has become an online celebrity after introducing changes of the village through live streaming each day, the Beijing News reported.
Yang has been using live streaming to introduce the changes and local specialties of the village since last November, attracting wide attention.
The hard to reach village had received little public attention until May 2016, when media reported that children from the village had to climb a rattan ladder to get to school each day. In August 2016, a steel ladder was constructed for the village.
Thanks to the steel ladder and the government’s efforts in poverty alleviation, the transportation, communication conditions of the village and villagers’ income have all improved, Yang noted.
Yang said that he will continue to publicize the village through live streaming in the hope to attract more visitors.
