A drone delivering medicine provided by Chinese e-commerce giant JD.com recently landed in the village on a cliff in southwest China’s Sichuan Province, indicating that the village’s shortage of supplies will be greatly alleviated, guancha.cn reported.
Atuleer, the village on a cliff in Sichuan’s Liangshan Yi Autonomous Prefecture, had received little public attention until May last year, when media reported that children from the village had to climb a rattan ladder to get to school each day.
The villagers have been facing poverty and backward local medical conditions for a long time.
However, the time spent on medicine delivery can now be reduced from 6 to 9 hours by people and ground vehicles to only 4 minutes by drone.
Through cooperation with the local government, the e-commerce giant will continue to offer the villagers medical equipment and necessary living supplies to help them shake off poverty.
