Post-95s man builds virtual Forbidden City in game

By Zhang Huan (People's Daily Online)    17:19, December 08, 2017

Su Yijun, a post-95s man, spent about three years building a virtual Forbidden City in a video game, China News reported on Dec. 8.

He intended to build a Forbidden City with toy bricks after his first visit to Beijing early in 2002, but it was impossible at that time.

However, his dream came true. He and his team of net users spent about three years building a complete model of the Forbidden City in a virtual video game block by block, including interior decorations of the main buildings.

“In order to reproduce the Forbidden City, we had to read many reference books and make revisions over and over again,” said Su.

Su said that their team members often changed, but they just did it just for the fun.

This November, Su and his team were invited by the Palace Museum in Beijing for a digital art exhibition. He and his team printed the virtual Forbidden City into a physical model using 3D printing technology.

His team is now planning to build a “mini Beijing” with city walls in the game, Su noted.
