Chengdu, the capital of southwest China’s Sichuan province, led the list of the top 10 happiest cities in China for 2017 released by Oriental Outlook Magazine and the Liaowang Institute of Xinhua News Agency on Dec. 7, Xinhuanet.com reported.
The cities of Chengdu, Hangzhou, Ningbo, Nanjing, Xi’an, Changchun, Changsha, Taizhou, Tongchuan, and Xuzhou all ranked in the top ten.
Over 13.95 million people responded to the survey, which launched in June. The evaluation took into account 50 indexes in ten categories, including education, living quality, employment, environment, income, public security, and tourism.
The city ranking, one of the most well-known rankings in China, has been released for 11 consecutive years and investigated 986 million people in total.
