Apple has decided to provide Chinese names for its systems and apps for the first time ever in order to better serve Chinese consumers, Thepaper.cn reported on Oct. 27.
Apple has always used English names for its products, but the company recently announced that it will soon provide Chinese versions of its systems including iOS, watchOS, and macOS, and relevant apps.
The names have been translated by a Chinese team in order to better serve Chinese consumers, the company said.
The names “Siri” and “App Store” will remain the same due to their popularization, the company also said, and the name changes are limited to consumers in China.
