Geng Yaozhi, China's oldest amateur synchronized swimmer and the first person in the country to take part in an international synchronized swimming competition, said he lives an ageless life.

Geng, who turns 62 this year, became an amateur synchronized swimmer over 30 years ago. Thanks to his multiple hobbies, such as singing and dancing ballet, Geng could learn synchronized swimming very fast.

Geng swims every day and likes to practice different swimming styles. The good habit keeps him in shape and makes him strong. His friends like to call him "sunshine boy" and Geng said he likes the title very much.

In 2015, Geng was persuaded by China's synchronized swimming star sisters Jiang Wenwen and Jiang Tingting to take part in a synchronized swimming event in the 2015 World Championships in Kazan. The two sisters also helped him to prepare for the championships.

Geng said one of the most memorable days in his life was a swimming competition in Germany, when he took the gold medal after winning the men's 60-69 age group. "It's hard to believe that after my performance, I heard some audience shout loudly 'China! China!' I felt really excited at that moment," Geng recalled.
