A large number of ice pops made in Liaoning of northeastern China were successfully exported to South Korea, and well received by local customers, chinanews.com reported on Aug. 22.
A total of four batches and 68 tons of flavored ice pops made by a food company in Liaoning have been exported to South Korea, according to the Liaoning Entry-Exit Inspection and Quarantine Bureau.
In the foreign market a 0.5-yuan ice pop is worth 2 yuan, almost quadruple the amount, but it adds a new choice for consumers. Since 2016, Liaoning-made ice pops have become a popular imported product in South Korea.
"Our ice pops are popular overseas due to their flavor and reasonable price. This shows South Koreans recognize the quality of our products, and boosts our confidence to further expand overseas," said Sun Yumei, a foreign trade manager.
The Liaoning Entry-Exit Inspection and Quarantine Bureau has also played a positive role in assisting the "going out" of domestic specialties.
