China's active foreign aid program embodies its advanced idea of cooperation, according to an opinion piece coauthored by experts Wang Linggui and Dong Xiangrong with the Chinese Academy of Social Sciences, the People's Daily reported on Aug. 21.
China has been playing an increasingly significant and active role in global governance with its strengthened economic strength and international influence in recent years.
As the world's largest developing country, China has provided all possible aid to other developing countries to alleviate their poverty and improve their people's livelihood under the framework of South-South cooperation, in order to seek common development with the benefit countries.
However, some Western countries doubt that China is expanding its own influence and attempting to exchange for unequal benefits through providing foreign aid, which is much biased.
China never views itself as a donator as some developed countries do when it comes to foreign aid, but a cooperative partner with the benefit countries. It respects the benefit countries' will and appeal, and actively supports the international community to help strengthen their independent development ability and improve their people's livelihood.

China's growing efforts in foreign aid concerning poverty alleviation, infrastructure construction, and environmental protection all reflect its advanced idea of cooperation.
The foreign aid provided by China includes offering assistance in project construction, materials, and urgent humanitarian assistance, developing technical cooperation and human resource development cooperation, as well as sending medical teams and volunteers, rather than interfering in other countries' internal affairs.
China always keeps its promise, puts itself in other's position, and spares no effort to help developing countries, which has won wide acclaim and appreciation.
In addition, China has been actively assisting benefit countries in independently developing their economy and improving their people's livelihood.
China attaches importance to sharing its own experiences of development and management with other developing countries, as well as introducing its advanced technology.
To better help developing countries develop, China not only offers non-reimbursable assistance and interest free credit, but has also set up the Silk Road Fund, the Asian Infrastructure Investment Bank, and the BRICS New Development Bank, all of which bring huge development opportunities.
Chinese President Xi Jinping has pointed out that more than 7 billion people are living together in our shared global village and so all people should work together to seek common development.
With greater ability to participate in international development, China will continue to expand foreign aid and support assistance from multilateral development agencies, in the hope to make greater contribution to human development.
