(The opening ceremony of the intellectual property protection center)
China’s first intellectual property protection center was established on Tuesday in Shanghai’s Pudong District, Thepaper.cn reported.
The report said a “green pathway” was launched to enable the fast examination of patents, which should decrease the time it takes to authorize high-end manufacturing equipment and bio-pharmaceutical products.
Right protection services are also provided.
A complaint channel will be used to investigate suspected violations of patents, trademarks, and copyrights.
Pudong New Area leads the emerging industry in China, and is the birthplace for many outstanding demonstrative enterprises, including Comac, MicroPort, AMEC and SMEE. China received more than 9,500 patent applications from Pudong in high-end manufacturing equipment and 2,300 applications for biopharmaceutical products in 2016.
According to the report, the intellectual property protection center is a pilot for better property protection in China, and more industries will be included in the future according to regional development patterns.
