A man in Dujiangyan, southwestern China’s Sichuan province, recently modified a Suzuki Auto into a rainbow-colored convertible, with all the windows and top removed.

Local traffic police spotted the modified vehicle on July 14 on a road. It looked like a sedan from the front, but with a suction port on its hood. Confused by the appearance of the car, the police officer pulled it over and surprisingly found out that the car was indeed a Suzuki Auto after checking the license.
The driver is a young man in his twenties. Because of hot weather, he decided to transform the car into a drop-top, he told the police.

“Illegally-modified vehicles have a high incidence of accidents due to lack of safety measures,” said police officer Hong Jiang. He added that it was dangerous for the young man to remove the windows and top which originally provided rigid support for the car’s bodywork.
The illegally-modified vehicle has been impounded by local police, and further investigations will be carried out.
