Baidu signed a strategic cooperation agreement to test its innovative driverless technology in Baoding, northern China's Hebei province.
Cooperation over the next three-to-five years will focus on testing the technology and improving user experience, as well as on exploring of business operation modes and relevant traffic laws.
Baoding will draw an enclosed car test zone and road infrastructure will be provided to help Baidu develop its self-driving technology. New service and application experiments will also be carried out.
Baoding serves as the first pilot city to demonstrate smart transportation in China.
