--The World’s Longest Lunch and The River Graze

By Mengcong Gao (People's Daily Online)    14:59, June 29, 2017

The world’s longest lunch has always been the highlight of the annual Melbourne Food and Wine Festival. This year, with more than 1600 guests, the world’s longest lunch comes to the iconic landmark in Melbourne -- the Lygon Street. They gather around a 600 meters length table and enjoy the three dishes designed by the godfather of Italian cooking, Antonio Carluccio. Antonio is a much loved and respected Italian cooking master. With an age of 80, he is the mentor of numbers of world’s top chefs.

The feast starts from the cured kingfish as the entrée, followed by the main course -- asso bucco, a quite popular dish in Italy. It uses truffle to unleash the flavor from the veal and then served with vegetables and beans. With the delicious desert serving afterwards, the savour is beyond description.

In addition to the splendid Italian delicacies aside Lygon, the three days’ River Graze along Yarra is another shining point in this event. It embraces not only traditional snacks and dishes from different countries but also the delicate deserts and various flavours of wine, which indeed is the paradise for food lovers.
