Commentary: China will never let corruption fugitives catch their breath

(People's Daily Online)    13:09, April 28, 2017

Since the 18th National Congress of the Communist Party of China held in November 2012, China has successfully carried out operations called “Fox Hunt” and “Sky Net” to crackdown corruption, as well as issued “red notices” to hunt down corruption fugitives abroad. The People's Bank of China and the Central Bank are cooperating with the Ministry of Public Security in cracking down on money transfers through offshore companies and underground banks.

Recently, Chinese authorities have exposed personal information and whereabouts on 22 fugitives to urge surrender. In a commentary published on April 28, 2017, the People’s Daily points out that China’s anti-corruption campaigns are launched to seal off the suspects’ shelter abroad, letting them have nowhere to hide. China has zero tolerance for the corrupted fugitives and will do whatever it takes to hunt them down.

No country in the world can solve the problem of corruption on its own, and an international collaboration is needed. The establishment of an international system for corruption prevention and punishment can effectively suppress corruption in the world.
