An online picture of Guo Haihua, a 33-year-old nurse who was breastfeeding a severely injured baby, has moved many people.
The nurse works at Shandong’s Jining No.1 People’s Hospital, and the baby’s parents were then in ICU after a car accident.
The mother of the baby largely protected the infant from the blow of the accident, but she is still in a coma. The crash fractured the baby’s frontal skull and an epidural hemorrhage occurred. All injuries were treated in a timely manner.
The 7-month old was still breastfeeding and refused formula, and even started to show signs of dehydration.
Guo is also the mother of an infant, so she volunteered to breastfeed the poor baby for a week, and never stopped until the baby recovered and left the hospital, regardless of the fact that there might not be enough breast milk for her own child.
The grandmother of the recovered baby showed great gratitude to the nurse, and she even called Guo “a guardian” of the infant.
