A house made from 8,500 empty beer bottles was completed on Dec. 27, 2016 by Li Rongjun, a college graduate who now lives in Chongqing. The house was Li’s first project for his startup. It took him four months to complete the unique structure, which features 40 layers of green beer bottles. The house is two stories, with each level measuring 2.8 meters high. All the bottles are placed neatly, with the bottoms facing inside. When the sun shines, light reflects through the bottles, decorating the house with flickers of green light.
