
A total of 7,900 corrupt officials have been punished since the 18th National Congress of the Communist Party of China, held in 2012, said the Central Commission for Discipline Inspection (CCDI) at a press conference on Jan. 19.
The CCDI said it has investigated 218 officials, punishing 17. In addition, national discipline inspection units have sent 5,800 letters reprimanding officials, and 2,500 officials have been criticized, transferred or dismissed due to corruption.
