Recently, a man surnamed Li from Shandong province lived on dew for three days after falling off Simian Mountain in the Jiangjin district of Chongqing, Chongqing Evening News reported on Jan. 19.
It was the first time that Li had attempted a 100-meter climb, though he has done other comparable outdoor activities before. Li believes the inferior quality of his rope is what caused his fall.
Badly wounded and unprepared for any accidents, Li found himself stranded without any water or food. He drank only a small amount of dew for three days, constantly shouting for help until rescue forces came.
Li said it was not easy to survive, and the experience taught him that it's essential to be prepared before starting out, maintain regular communication with others, and pay attention to details like safety buckles to avoid possible accidents.
