On Jan. 15, Li Linmu proposed to his girlfriend underwater at an ocean theme park in Hubei province, displaying homemade signs to convey his message.
Li, dressed as a diver, directed over 300 fish through the aquarium tunnel. With romantic music playing in the background, Li held up a sign in front of his girlfriend. On the first sign he had written “Hi, there,” which is what he said when he and his girlfriend first met. He followed the first sign with a number of others.
Li works as a journalist, and his girlfriend is a tour guide who often travels abroad. Due to their respective packed schedules, they don't get to spend much time together, so Li decided to overcome his fear of water to give his girlfriend an unforgettable surprise on her birthday.
