Man with cerebral palsy works hard to buy parents a house

By Li Yan (People's Daily Online)    13:55, January 13, 2017

Du Xingfu, 27, was diagnosed with cerebral palsy when he was 8 months old. Recently, despite his limited mobility and difficulty with speech, Du has been saving money through his remote computer repair services in order to help buy his parents a house.

Du began studying computers in 2011, after he received a second-hand computer from his elder brother. Soon, Du taught himself how to scan news, search for information, shop online and register for social media platforms. The idea of using the computer to make money came after Du fixed his own computer. Du taught himself to install systems remotely, and started the business without ever having to leave his home. He charges between 10 and 30 RMB for each service, earning 3,000 RMB ($435) in 2014.

Though he doesn't earn much compared with most full-time workers, Du feels proud of himself and his achievements.
