The ploy of a professional beggar in Tai'an, Shandong province was recently discovered by employees of local rescue station on Dec. 24.
The man was lying down on a skateboard in the street, pretending to be physically disabled, when employees of the rescue center came upon him. The employees offered help, but the beggar refused them. Undeterred, the employees insistently tried to persuade the man to let them help for nearly 90 minutes. Finally, annoyed by the onslaught, the man stood up and said he would quit begging in that spot.

Quickly, many people criticized the beggar for disguising himself as disabled. When the employees brought the man to the rescue center, they discovered that he was from Changsha, Hunan province. He has been begging in Tai'an for many years.
After taking a shower, the man changed into a clean suit. Later, the rescue center sent him home, enjoining him not to beg anymore.
