

An orphan girl has touched many hearts in China, as the young soul fought bravely for her future. Before and after photos of the girl went viral online after one of the girl's surgeons posted them on Sina Weibo with the hashtag "EveryLifeIsWorthFightingFor."

The girl was saved after two heart surgeries and weeks of emergency treatment, which altogether lasted more than 100 days. According to the cardiovascular surgeon, Lin Ke, the girl is an orphan from Ngari Prefecture in Tibet. The girl was found close to death by local volunteers, who brought her to West China Hospital affiliated with Sichuan University, where she was diagnosed with a severe congenital heart disease. During her hospitalization, other conditions also emerged, including a bacterial infection and liver and kidney failure.

When contacted by People's Daily Online for more details, Lin declined to comment. It is unclear how old the girl actually is.

Many people were touched by the girl's photos. Lin's Weibo post has received more than 9,500 reposts as of press time, and thousands have left comments wishing the girl better health in the future.
