Border police register the identities of Burmese people.

Local governments in Wanting and other areas of Yunnan province have undertaken emergency response procedures after military conflicts broke out in northern Myanmar.

More police have been sent to the border area to maintain order and provide humanitarian aid to people from Myanmar. Meanwhile, according to the official microblog of Dehong Dai and Jingpo Autonomous Prefecture, the ports of entry between China and Myanmar are still open, and the government has taken measures to help people from Myanmar settle in safe areas.

Zhu Minyun, head of the Dehong Blue Sky Rescue team, said the Manghai settlement has accepted more than 2,000 refugees from Myanmar. Hundreds of Myanmar people who crossed the border to escape the fighting have settled in Wanting, a small town close to northern Myanmar.

Three armed groups attacked security posts in the border towns of Muse and Kutkai in Myanmar's northeastern state of Shan on Nov. 20. Soon after, China called on all involved parties to exercise restraint and halt military operations so as to avoid further escalation of the conflict.

Chinese armed forces are also on high alert after the attacks.
